Aklief cream 0.005% (75g Cream)
Aklief contains a retinoid called trifarotene, which increases skin cell turnover, and stimulates collagen production.
This is a newer medicine and has been proven to help with acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. We would expect it to help with skin-ageing and texture too, but there isn’t as much data to support this yet.

Skin ageing affects everyone and can cause things like fine lines, sun spots, wrinkles, uneven tone and textured skin. Hyperpigmentation and scarring can happen after trauma or inflammation to the skin, caused by skin conditions like acne.
Although most skin changes are natural and often can’t be avoided, prescription-strength treatment could help improve the appearance and texture of your skin over time, alongside lifestyle changes. We can prescribe easy-to-use gels or creams to manage your concerns. We just need you to send us some photos and we’ll make sure treatment is suitable for you. Very occasionally we might need to follow up with you with some more questions.
While these medicines are not specifically licensed to treat these kinds of skin changes, they’re effective and are used by dermatologists ‘off-label’ to improve the appearance of the skin.
