Trichomoniasis — why you should get treated

Trichomoniasis is a common sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a tiny parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. If you’ve tested positive for trichomoniasis with a Boots home test kit, or you’re a partner of someone who has tested positive for trichomoniasis with a Boots home test kit but are not showing symptoms, we can prescribe treatment if suitable for you. It’s important to get treated because untreated trichomoniasis can leave you vulnerable to other STIs and health issues. If you’ve got symptoms, you should visit your GP or health clinic.

It’s best to get tested for a range of STIs if you’ve been told you need trichomoniasis treatment.
